Cinema, videos and sound recordings have also aroused Pierre Verger’s attention. Indeed, he was friend with film directors such as Jean Rouch and ethnomusicologists like Gilbert Rouget. He has played a decisive role in conceiving and realizing various films and also has realized numerous recordings. The foundation is, among others things, rediscovering recordings made by Verger in partnership with the candombé Oxumaré. The audio collection was realized in 1958 in this same territory, and put together, they reach 130 hours of recordings including  holy texts in Yoruba (approximately 100 hours) and ritual African and Afro-Brazilian music.
